Road Speed Limits, buffer, and Fines in Saudi Arabia

Road safety is critical to protecting both drivers and pedestrians. One critical part of road safety is obeying speed limits and comprehending the repercussions of speeding infractions.

In this post, we will look at Saudi Arabia's road speed limits, speed buffers, and fines for exceeding them.

Road Speed Limits in Saudi Arabia - HowSaudi

Speed Buffers

To account for minor variations in speedometer accuracy and driver compliance, Saudi Arabia implements speed buffers. These buffers provide a small margin above the posted speed limit before triggering penalties. However, it's important to remember that exceeding the designated speed limits, even within the buffer range, can still pose risks and result in fines.

Fines for Overspeeding

Exceeding the posted speed limits beyond the permissible buffer range can lead to fines in Saudi Arabia. The fines for overspeeding are categorized based on the degree of violation, as follows:

1. Speed Limit of 120 km/h or less
